If your intimate relationship is facing difficulty then the counselling room
can be a useful space to overcome the blocks to communication you are
experiencing. It is a neutral arena and as a couple you can work together
with an impartial facilitator on ways forward. Invariably it will involve
both parties looking at what they each bring to the relationship and to the
'problem'. Each must be ready to make that journey and both must be ready
and willing to change in some way. Both must at some level wish the
relationship to continue - even though the way forward might seem impossible.
